Dear Friend,
In clear violation of international law, US, UK and France – an imperialist alliance – have bombed multiple government targets in Syria in an early Saturday morning operation. It’s a war crime.
Also more stories from around the world.

Blind Assault: Trump Strikes Syria
by Dr Binoy Kampmark
What was it all in aid of? There would be no redrawing of borders, no toppling of Assad, and even a possible aggravation of the security tangle that exists in a beleaguered country. It all pointed to staged outrage resulting in indulgent punishment, an act of violent scolding at the end of missiles for a claimed chemical attack by Syrian government forces last weekend that left over 40 people dead. In Trump’s words, “These are not the actions of a man. They are the crimes of a monster.”
Imperialism Strikes Syria Again
by Farooque Chowdhury
Imperialism again carries on direct aggression against Syria. And, with its bloody claws, heinous imperialism again asserts its age-old axiom: Everything is and will be dominated; no effort for a peaceful life will be allowed.
U.S., Britain, France Attack Syria: THIS Is a Crime of Imperialist Monsters!
by Revolution Newspaper
This attack is an outrageous, naked act of imperialist aggression. It’s a war crime. And it’s an extremely dangerous escalation of the Syrian war, that has the potential to turn into a regional, even global conflagration.
Infants Torn From Incubators, Babies Gassed: The Party Has Just Begun!
by Mary Lynn Cramer
The British reporter in Damascus (whose “house was shaken to its foundations”) said no one was expecting the attack; the Russians had not been notified, and he is overwhelmed with phone calls from Syrian families wanting to know what more to expect. Here is a clue that the ghouls’ party has just begun: “With no legal authority and in clear violation of international law, the Trump Administration has started its criminal attack on the people of Syria with the largest U.S. Navy task force, including U.S. nuclear aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines, since the attack on Iraq in 2003.”
Yankee Go Home – Fuck The USA
by Jim Miles
My knee jerk reaction to Trump’s action tonight: …and Canada is guilty with this war crime…kind of hard to tell you to fuck off home as you are already there.
Wagging The Dog For Amnesiacs
by Richard Westra
This can’t be real, can it? Doesn’t anyone remember the British Iraq Dossier plagiarized from a US doctoral student thesis? Or what about then US Secretary of State Colin Powell making a fabricated presentation to the United Nations on the case for illegally attacking Iraq for its purported weapons of mass destruction? Fifteen years later Iraq, once a functioning, relatively well-to-do middle income economy, is now a 21st century wasteland.
My Pro Latino Papi

Between 1974 and 1996, the Central American civil wars left at least 250,000 Salvadorans, Guatemalans and Nicaraguans dead. Around 75,000 people were killed in El Salvador — more than 1 percent of the entire population — during the country’s twelve-year civil war. Imagine 1 percent of the U.S. population (around 326 million as of 2017) being killed in a dozen years. That’s about half of the people the Nazis exterminated during WWII.
How Dead Fish Float
by Marcel Duchamp Oxman
My knowledgeable colleague has written about the deadly blows that Bechtel delivers to the residents of California and elsewhere courtesy of Stanford University previously, but I believe the latest scandal connected to that unconscionable corporation in Washington State deserves special attention right now, since there are many (Hanford) counterparts in the Golden State that beg for our focus immediately.
Homeless

his wordless poem,
rhythmic and perfectly metered;
then pauses to consider it
before a new trope of sound
rises with the steam from his mouth.

Nabeel CKM’s Malayalam book on the stone quarries and the mining mafia in the Western Ghats of Kerala exposes the socio-political pathologies of our times.

Is India Fast Becoming A Dysfunctional Democracy?
by Dr Arshad M Khan
When hate invades the human mind, there is no limit to brutal atrocity. On April 10, a Guardian story showed a video in which there is cheering as an Israeli sniper shoots an unarmed Palestinian a considerable distance away. Shown on TV in Israel, it has been the subject of some introspective debate. Then there is news from Kashmir to make anyone, but the perpetrators and their supporters, cringe in horror.
‘Nationalist Rape’ Times: Hindutva Juggernaut Shames India Once Again
by Shamsul Islam
The present rape storm in India not only shows the hollowness of the claims of the Hindutva ideologues but also unashamed culpability of the individuals and organizations connected with the Hindutva ideology. The three rape cases which have shamed India took place in the rural India and the perpetrators in all cases have been connected with the Hindutva organizations/politics.
